John Smith enlisted in the Army on 7th Feb 1963 and retired as a WOI on 6th Feb 1987.
During John’s service he served overseas in Butterworth, Malaysia in 1964, with 111 LAA Bty RAA
Vietnam 1965 – 66 and 69 with 105 Fd Bty RAA (indep) and part of 1 Fd Regt and 12 Fd Regt RAA.
He also had postings to the Royal School of Artillery Larkhill, UK, 22 AD Regt, England 12 AD Regt,
Germany and Air Defence School, Fort Bliss, El Paso, USA
He joined the VVAA Bne Nth in August 1992 and has served as Committee, Sub Branch President and Vice President, State President and Vice President, National Vice President and State Delegate to National Council and is a qualified level 3 Advocate.
